It was a extraodinary day for British Tennis ace Andy Murray as he took a truly magnificient win over world number one Rafael Nadal to reach his first Grand Slam final at the US Open.
The 21 year old had to work his socks off, playing against Nadal in the continuation of the rain delayed semi-final. He initially led by two sets but Nadal soon found a bit of rhythm and won the third set.
But that didn't affect as Murray displayed genuine fire and determination. He won 6-2 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 6-4 and roared to the final of the US open. Tomorrow night he faces the Godfather of Tennis, four-time defending champion Roger Federer.
"It's awesome to beat him, a great feeling," Murray said, "He's beaten me five times in a row, so that was tough, and to do it in a semi meant it was really difficult.
Though it was a sad day for fans of Nadal, who had an astonishing 5-0 record against Murray, and had won the French Open, Wimbledon, the Olympic Gold and World number one status.
